Rebecca Brock
In 2022, Rebecca Brock won the Women's Poetry Contest at Kelsay Books judged by Katie Manning, The Comstock Review’s Muriel Craft Bailey Memorial Poetry Contest, judged by Ellen Bass, and the Editor's Choice Award at Sheila-Na-Gig. Her first chapbook, Each Bearing Out, was a semifinalist in the New Women's Voices contest at Finishing Line Press and is now available from Kelsay Books. Her first full length collection The Way Land Breaks is now available from Sheila-Na-Gig Editions.
She holds an MFA from The Bennington Writing Seminars and received a Virginia Commission for the Arts Fellowship in 2006. A MacDowell Fellow, her work has been published in The Threepenny Review, CALYX, Mom Egg Review, Rust + Moth, Sweet Lit, THRUSH, Sky Island Journal, SWWIM, West Trestle, Whale Road Review & elsewhere. Her poetry has been nominated for Best of the Net and the Pushcart Prizes.
She has lived in Virginia for nearly 20 years and still isn't used to the humidity. She has been a flight attendant for most of her adult life and is still surprised by this fact.
